The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir (SGLC) joins forces with film enthusiasts Jay Katz and Miss Death (Jamie Leonarder and Aspasia Leonarder from FBI’s ‘Naked City’ and the Mu-Meson Archives) to present Tainted Love, a one-off screening of avant-garde films dealing with homosexuality between the 1930s and the 1960s, with a live soundtrack of jazz, pop and Australian art music covers (by the SGLC). Expect a confronting and enlightening look at how the media has shaped public perceptions of homosexuality that still persist in many ways today.
Tainted Love, Sunday, June 22, 4pm, Paddington RSL, 220-232 Oxford Street, Paddington, tickets $33/$22, available from moshtix.com.au or at the door.
