MEET GLEN CAMPBELL—GLEN CAMPBELL [EMI]
Bet you never thought you’d read a Glen Campbell review in the gay press (does a line-dancing newsletter count?), but this fascinating new album deserves a shout out. That’s because this stalwart of the old-school country scene has looked to the recent(ish) pop rock past for inspiration on this album.

Glen covers such massive hits as Foo Fighters’ ‘Times Like These’, Travis’ ‘Sing’, John and Yoko’s ‘Grow Old with Me’, and a spectacular rendition of Green Day’s ‘Good Riddance (The Time of Our Lives)’ with the majestic aplomb one would expect from a singer of this stature.

Also wrestling in the mix is Jackson Browne’s ‘These Days’, ‘Jesus’ by Lou Reed, and U2’s epic ‘All I Want is You’.
