Arrest made in missing man case

newsmissingman-250.jpgPolice have made an arrest in relation to the disappearance of Matthew Leveson who has been missing since September last year.

Detectives from Miranda Local Area Command arrested a 45-year-old Cronulla man at his home on Tuesday this week where he assisted police with their inquiries.

At press time the man was expected to be charged with murder; however Leveson’s body has yet to be recovered.

Matthew Leveson, a gay man from Cronulla, was last seen with his partner, leaving ARQ nightclub in Surry Hills about 2am on Sunday, September 23. When he failed to turn up at work during the following days, concerned relatives reported him missing. Police then located his abandoned car on Thursday, September 27 at Waratah Oval in Sutherland.

Detectives believe Leveson was murdered

Police and Leveson’s family have renewed their appeal for information about Leveson’s disappearance particularly in relation to where his body might be. Anyone who can help should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Callers can remain anonymous if they wish.
