Community advocates honoured

Two prominent members of Sydney’s GLBT community, Peter Tribilco and Bruce Pollack, were honoured last Thursday before a packed ceremony at ACON’s Honour event held in the National Arts School in Darlinghurst.

Both were recognised for their years of service, leadership and commitment to the GLBT community.

“Honour 2008 was a great success,” ACON President Mark Orr said. “Friends and colleagues of both Bruce and Peter delivered moving tributes to the two men, whose acceptance speeches underscored the industry, dignity and compassion which have been hallmarks of their many years of service to the GLBT community.”

The event raised almost $25,000 through a combination of ticket sales and a range of silent auctions.

Now in its second year, Honour is an awards night that acknowledge people who have displayed commitment and leadership in the GLBT community.
