The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) and ACON raised nearly $4000 from their teams’ efforts at last weekend’s City2Surf marathon.
Team BGF raised $2,070 with seven participants, including highest fundraiser, former Dykes on Bikes President Lisa Usher. Team ACON raised nearly $2000 with a team of six runners. Other GLBT organisations also benefited from the fun run, such as queer youth agency, Twenty10. IT manager, 27-year-old Ben Peake, raised over $2000 for the organisation, through the marathon's charity challenge. More than 70,000 people took part in this year’s City2Surf, which raised over $1.5million for charities. Donations can still be made until August 31. Go to www.city2surf.everydayhero.com.au.
