Isle be back

They came, they saw, they wiggled their arse. Club Med on Lindeman Island may never be the same after some 400 gay men and lesbiansshipwrecked-310-250.jpg descended on the resort for a full-blown post-Mardi Gras celebration.

Despite the occasional monsoonal downpour – and the presence of deadly box jellyfish in the ocean (bring your body condom) – it was with gleeful determination that the entire island was transformed into a non-stop party, one filled with memories that will take some time to fade.

Witnessing Polly Petrie in full drag swinging from a trapeze is just one case in point. While there were a few complaints about the volume and duration of the music, the overwhelming sense on the ferry trip off the island was one of being part of a unique experience.

The ever-smiling staff, on the other hand, must be exhausted.
