Lack of quorum postpones meeting

New Mardi Gras postponed its annual general meeting for lack of quorum on Saturday.

The meeting, scheduled to take place at 11.00am at the Metropolitan Community Church in Petersham, attracted approximately 35 members and a dozen non-members. Under its constitution, for the meeting to take place, at least 50 members needed to be in attendance.

After waiting for 30 minutes, it was decided to postpone the meeting.

A rescheduled meeting is now set for 6pm, Wednesday, August 27 at New Mardi Gras' headquarters in Petersham.

Rob Beetson, chair of the meeting, said that the rescheduling of the meeting does not affect proxies.

“We still can’t receive any proxies between now and Wednesday. That still remains closed off.”

New Mardi Gras Annual General Meeting will now be held on Wednesday, August 27, 6pm at New Mardi Gras, 297 Trafalgar Street, Petersham. All members are invited to attend.
