The Clarence Hotel, Petersham, goes gay May 30.
Despite rumours they were about to pull up stumps and head north (Cairns to be
exact), Manacle has found a new home – in Sydney.
Stuart Fraser and Andrew Clarke announced this week the
purchase of the Clarence Hotel in Petersham, which will reopen as a gay owned and operated hotel on Friday, May 30.
The Clarence has a 24-hour hotel license and a capacity of around 350,
incorporating OUTbar, a bottle shop, Wall St (for those of you interested in
finance), a bistro, and cool 1930’s fittings upstairs.
According to Fraser and Clarke, guests can expect the “same iconic artwork,
chain web, the cage, and even some of the staff and DJs”.
The Clarence has the same capacity as the former venue at Taylor Square,
but “it’s all in one room”.
