Ben Peake is on a mission.
The 27-year-old IT manager from Annandale hopes to complete the City2Surf in under 75 minutes, beating his 2007 record of 79 minutes.
He also hopes to double the money he raises, from $500 to $1000, which will go towards youth agency Twenty10. Ben is among a number of people running in the popular marathon for charity.
“Twenty10, being an organisation that operates within the gay community and in the inner west, close to me, I always thought was something I could run for,” Peake told SX.
Twenty10 Executive Officer Meredith Turnbull commended Peake for his efforts.
“Helping young people set goals and work to achieve them is what Twenty10 does,” she said. “By achieving his own goals, Ben is helping us to do that work.”
