Australian diver Matthew Mitcham will compete at the Beijing Olympics, and hopes that his partner, Lachlan, will be there to watch him go for gold.
Coming out to the media for the first time, Mitcham, 20, has applied for a grant with the Johnson and Johnson Athlete Family Support Program to bring Lachlan to Beijing, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, who called him “the first Australian to go to the Olympics declaring his homosexuality”.
