Sleaze Ball sold out

sleaze250.jpgTickets to Sydney’s premier costume event, Sleaze Ball, have officially sold out, according to organisers.

At 9.00am this morning, only a limited number of tickets were available, prompting organisers to issue a statement urging partygoers not wait until the last minute.

New Mardi Gras has confirmed that tickets sold out by 5.00pm today.

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the annual event which takes place this Saturday, October 4, at the Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park.

Dance group The Potbelleez will be headlining this year’s party, alongside former So You Think You Can Dance contestant, Demi Sorono. DJs include Alan Thompson, Sveta, Mark Murphy and Simon Caldwell.

Post-party news and photos will be available on Evolution Online from Sunday, and in the next special photo issue of SX, which hits the streets on Thursday, October 9.

Well I went and I thought it was fun. I had the best night in AGES - and who can argue with that?

Yep! I entirely agree with Frank's comments. I have been an avid party goer to various parties for years. Sleaze has become a non event. The fashion parade has become like "Big Brother" and not spontaneous like in the old days, which was about people coming together for a fancy dress to have fun and respect for each other. We made our own fun all those years and with little of the scene fun anymore, I still do today. I t all about laughing. Laughter is good medicine and it keeps you young. And also, I have to add "the music maketh it"! It doesn't today. You want a great sound system with booming dance music and a enthusiastic DJ, who loves to play music. Otherwise, the music is lost and there is no vibe. People get bored and don't go again. One things for sure most people alway remember a good DJ, good music, friendly people who respect you and a great costume!

It may have sold out, but I'm not going this year because I think it's lost its magic. There's no adventure anymore. The crowd's less friendly than it was before, there is only one room, and the authorities are all over it. Demi Sorono? Who's that? Who cares! Gimme the Shift and I'll be happy.
