The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) will officially launch its UTS Ally Program on Tuesday, August 5 from 12.30pm-2pm at UTS, with Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore and Professor Shirley Alexander, UTS Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Teaching, Learning and Equity).

The initiative trains staff members to help establish a non-discriminatory environment for GLBTIQ students and staff, and is derived from an international model that was first adapted by the University of Western Australia in 2002. Other Australian universities have since implemented the program, including the University of New South Wales and the University of Western Sydney. For more information, call 9514 1084.
