It strikes me that sometimes
politicians are their own worst enemies – which, in such a cut-throat
industry dominated by foes and usurpers, is not smart.

HARD TIMES
You’d think after a week off from writing this column I’d be refreshed,
bursting with new ideas and sardonic wit on life. Instead I’m like the
proverbial bear with a sore head only in my case a lesbian with a sore
arm.

GIVERS AND BAKERS
I’m now officially a charity slut. In the
next six months I’m going to do the Food and Wine Fair for the Aids
Trust, sell daffodils for the Cancer Council and finger some teenagers
for World Youth Day – “It’s the time of your eternal life” and my
scout’s shirt will be heavy with badges.
