backchatpalin-250.jpgPOT, KETTLE, BLACK

First up, some interesting journalistic in-fighting in the US in the lead up to the presidential election…

Nico Pitney, editor of news website The Huffington Post, has earned the wrath of fellow journalist Brian Fitzpatrick after he wrote about potential vice-president Sarah Palin’s (Republican candidate John McCain’s running mate, pictured) “controversial” religious views.

As Queerty reported, it’s that very word – “controversial” – that Fitzpatrick has seized upon, insisting that “pro-gay” Pitney is simply trying to hash up some scandal of his own and push a nefarious agenda.

To wit: “In his effort to marginalise Palin’s religious values, Pitney appears to be advancing a political agenda. Just two weeks ago, the self-described ‘advocacy’ journalist was scheduled to participate in a panel on opinion writing at the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association convention in Washington, DC.” (It’s a nightmare!)

Fitzpatrick continues: “To define Palin’s faith, Pitney and Stein quote what they describe as ‘provocative’ and ‘eyebrow-raising’ statements by Wasilla [Assembly of God] pastor Ed Kalnins. The minister’s teachings, however, may not be as controversial as Pitney and Stein believe.” (Palin was a member of Wasilla Assembly of God, an evangelical institution – she supports teaching creationism, outlawing abortion and banning same-sex marriage, among other pearls of tolerance and synaptic misfirings.)

Well, considering Wasilla Assembly of God’s support of ‘Love Won Out’, a non-profit organisation dedicated to ‘curing’ the vile homosexual, I’d have to disagree with Mr Fitzpatrick, who just happens to be senior editor at the Culture and Media Institute.

But here’s where it gets good. It is worth noting that the Institute works to ‘preserve and help restore America’s culture, character, traditional values, and morals against the assault of the liberal media elite, and to promote the fair portrayal of social conservatives and religious believers in the media.” Further, Fitzpatrick also sat on the board of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality (AFTAH), ‘a group dedicated to exposing the homosexual activist agenda’.

Apparently, AFTAH seeks to apply the same single-minded determination to opposing the radical homosexual agenda and standing for God-ordained sexuality and the natural family as countless homosexual groups do in promoting their harmful agenda.”

So, Fitzpatrick, what’s that about Pitney’s slant? Have you ever heard the adage: People in narrow-minded, homophobic glass houses shouldn’t throw stones?

backchatbishop-250.jpgCAN IT, CANON

A senior preacher man from Wales in the UK is terribly cross over a possible Bishop appointment for openly-gay Jeffrey John (pictured)

Canon Peter Jones claims that John’s ascension would force people from the Church of Wales – because, as we all know, us gays are nothing more than the spawn of satan.

Said Jones: “Jeffrey John is a strong advocate of changing the Church’s traditional teaching on homosexuality and I accept the teaching of holy scripture that homosexual acts are wrong.

Therefore to have someone deliberately seek to undermine that teaching – that is clearly not someone who is suitable to hold office as a bishop of the Church of God.

“We’re saying that homosexual acts are sinful and wrong, and those who advocate a change in the Church’s position are not appropriate people to leaders in the Church.”

Gee – don’t you just love a dose of hatred in the morning?

backchatmaddow-250.jpgMADE UP

Earlier in the week, Page 6 leaked a rumour that the powers that be at MSNBC are unhappy with US news anchor Rachel Maddow’s (pictured) mannish appearance. Allow me to quote:

“MSNBC loves the chatter of liberal pundit Rachel Maddow, but not her look. Maddow, who’s getting her own show, is being subjected to a network makeover. A source says an entire ‘glam squad’ has been hired for the openly-gay Maddow, and she has been asked not to wear her Drew Carey-esque classes again. There’s even talk of ‘putting her in a skirt’. We’re sure that’ll do the trick.”

I hope she puts up a fight.

CAREER CHANGE

As reported by Pink News, a 22-year-old man has been fired from a Subway outlet after a customer recognised him from his gay porn work and complained. Awkward!

Kurt Wild, who has appeared for ‘Freshmen’ and ‘Buckshot’, was employed in a restaurant in St Louis, Missouri. He said in an email to BGay.com: “A customer said they wouldn’t even eat there at Subway anymore because of my past work and said that if I wasn’t fired then they would boycott the store.”

How ridiculous. Grow some balls, Subway. At least ban the complainant as well. It all reeks of double standards to me. Subway… with their phallic bread rolls and steamy buns filled with creamy mayonnaise – the whole restaurant’s a gay metaphor for god’s sake.

backchatgod-250.jpgJUST DESSERTS

Havens Corners church in Ohio recently the used the lyrics of Katy Perry’s ‘I Kissed A Girl’ to spread a “loving warning” to its teenage brethren: “I kissed a girl and I liked it, then I went to hell”. Lovely.

Well, some clearly more evolved vandals offered Havens Corners a message of their own: “God adores you”. It’s an acronym for gay! Sweet… I’m sure the church is just delighted.
